Artist Biography

Edward Humphrey is a fine artist who creates intriguing portraits with imaginative compositions. He is an alumnus of the renowned National Art School with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, and TAFE with a Certificate IV in Arts and Cultural Administration. Notable achievements include securing a spot in the prestigious Salon des Refusés, becoming a finalist in the Archibald Portrait Prize, and selection for the Bluethumb Art Prize.

He primarily glazes with acrylic paints in a fast-paced manner to construct rich, luminous tones. As well as this, Edward focuses on the emotional vitality of each subject, transforming them into dynamic and lively compositions that can resonate with art enthusiasts and collectors alike.
